Special Guide Helps Chinese Capture International Markets - 1

The municipal government of Haikou, the capital of China's Hainan province, has published an electronic guide for foreign direct investment, the newspaper reported " Haikou Daily".

The electronic document should help Chinese companies enter the international market and will also help increase investment from foreign investors in Haikou and China as a whole.

To attract foreign investors to Haikou, the city government has established a demonstration zone for economic cooperation between Hainan Province and Hong Kong and a cluster of foreign enterprises. In addition, a mechanism has been created for regular meetings with business representatives for consultations on optimizing the business environment in the city.

In order to strengthen the city's involvement in international supply chains, starting this year Meilan International Airport located in Haikou launched flights to Bournemouth (UK), Johor Bahru (Malaysia) and Abu Dhabi (UAE). Regional destinations currently offer flights to 32 cities, including Hong Kong, Macau, Sydney and Singapore.

In addition, municipal authorities held presentations on Haikou's investment opportunities in the European Union, Southeast Asia, Africa and Central Asia, as well as in several cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.< / span>

On June 1, 2020, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council of the People's Republic of China released a program for the formation of a free trade port in Hainan. The document provides for the creation of a special customs zone on this tropical island.

Chinese authorities plan to generally complete the construction of a free port in the province in 2025, when a system to ensure free trade and investment should be built on the island.

By 2035, Hainan plans to ensure freedom of trade and investment, cross-border movement of capital, entry and exit of people and freight transport.
